The Unruly Pig and Suffolk New College team up for a culinary event

Award winning Suffolk gastro-pub, The Unruly Pig, is cooking up storm for an evening of fine dining at Shelley’s restaurant at Suffolk New College in Ipswich on Thursday 24 May 2018.

Anyone can book to attend this evening of indulgence and enjoy a three-course meal with canapés, cocktails and coffee.

The event gives hospitality students at Suffolk New College an opportunity to learn new skills from Dave Wall, the Head Chef at The Unruly Pig, who has worked side by side with the likes of Gordon Ramsey.

Students will also receive a cocktail making masterclass from The Unruly Pig’s team who were named as ‘Best Front of House Team 2018’ prize at the recent Estrella Damm UK Top 50 Gastropub Awards.

Chris Martin, a hospitality lecturer at the college, said: “We pride ourselves on giving students as many real-life experiences and opportunities as we can. They are really looking forward to working with The Unruly Pig who are an award winning team at one of the region’s best eateries.

Mr Martin, added: “We have hosted quite a few special evenings this year at Shelley’s. They have proved very popular and this link up with The Unruly Pig is creating quite a buzz. The menu they have created is mouth-watering so I’m sure that diners will not be disappointed.”

“We feel very privileged to be building a solid relationship with such a well-loved and successful local business. Not only have they offered work experience opportunities to our students, they have also taken on former learners as employees.”

Owner of The Unruly Pig, Brendan Padfield, said,:“Our team is really looking forward to working with students at the college where they will offer them advice and knowledge that will help hopefully give them (the students) an edge when they finish their course and begin their careers.
