‘UNRULY PIG’ CHEF MAKES SEMI-FINALS OF ‘GAME CHEF OF THE YEAR 2020’

Multi award-winning Woodbridge pub The Unruly Pig’s renowned chef Dave Wall has made it to the semi-finals of the ‘Game Chef of the Year 2020’ awards. The semi-final ‘cook off’ takes place in London on Monday 11 November judged by an expert panel including Matt Abe, Claude Bosi, Ian McAndrew and Clare Smyth MBE.

“The judges have been impressed with the quality of entries received this year; and we’re thrilled to be nominated. Dave certainly deserves all the accolades and we take pride in serving the very best locally sourced game” commented owner Brendan Padfield

Dave’s seasonal menus regularly include venison, pheasant, pigeon, partridge and rabbit he is an advocate for using all the cuts, creating heart-warming gastro dishes with a punch of flavour.

“Game is a very nutritious and lean meat. We love creating aromatic dishes with a mix of seasonal produce. A popular dish at the Pig this month is Partridge, roasted cep mushrooms, delica pumpkin, sage and polenta.” commented Dave Wall He continued  “It’s been an incredible year for us all at The Unruly Pig and we’re delighted to be in the semi-finals competing against such talented chefs. It’s a huge honour to come this far”

After a run of accolades this year Dave Wall recently gained  ‘Chef of the Year’ in the Great British Pub awards 2019 and ‘Pub Restaurant Chef Award’ at the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2019 competing in ‘cook offs’ against finalists from across the UK.
