Paddy & Scott’s Goes Carbon Neutral with Shopify
20/09/2022 - Paddy & Scott's
Coffee brand Paddy & Scott’s is taking the next step on its crusade to reduce its environmental impact by using the Shopify platform to offer carbon-neutral shipping to its online customers.
The Suffolk-based coffee company has signed up to The Planet app from Shopify, which automatically calculates estimated shipping emissions and charges Paddy & Scott’s a small fee per order, in order to offset and neutralise the carbon footprint of customers’ home deliveries. “From our compostable paper cups to recyclable coffee packaging, we are always looking at ways to reduce our use of single-use plastic and lower our CO2 emissions. We are thrilled to be using Shopify and now be able to promise our customers, who share our climate-conscious values, that any deliveries will be carbon neutral going forward,” says Paddy & Scott’s CEO, Jon Reed.
Customers purchasing coffee through the website will be able to see icons during their online shopping experience telling them about Paddy & Scott’s commitment to removing carbon from the atmosphere, and how they are connecting with online shoppers who care about the environmental impact of their purchases.
Jon adds, “Paddy & Scott’s monetary contributions from each customer order will go towards funding cutting-edge carbon removal projects that have the potential to reverse climate change. This fits with our passion for supporting sustainable and eco-friendly projects around the world.”
Since launching in 2007, Paddy & Scott’s has funded its own farming project in Kenya which supports the local coffee-growing community with jobs, equipment and education. With this latest venture with Shopify, the brand will now also be helping some of the most promising climate solutions worldwide.
