JMS continues national expansion with new offices in Reading
30/04/2019 - JMS Consulting Engineers
With so much civil and structural development taking place in the Thames Valley and surrounding areas, it is the ideal time for JMS to announce a new regional office in Reading, with old hands Graham Chapman and James Gillies heading up a talented and motivated team.
“There are a large number of existing and ongoing projects taking place in the area,” says Graham Chapman. “Everything from bespoke architecturally designed housing extensions through to multi-story apartment buildings made from reinforced concrete. And when you consider the complexities of improving the associated roads and drainage infrastructure, it is no surprise that developers are crying out for the skills JMS can offer – particularly where we can be close-by when our expertise is needed most.”
National expansion, local service
JMS’ exponential growth has seen the civil and structural consulting engineering firm strengthen and expand its reach far and wide throughout the UK and beyond. Stick a pin anywhere on a map of the UK, and you will likely find a JMS regional office nearby. And that is all down to the management philosophy that MD Daniel Staines has put in place.
“It’s very simple, really. We want to have the national reach of a large company, with all the contacts, expertise and buying power that entails, but still be able to deliver a hands on, face to face service at the local level. That means a network of regional offices, based at the places where we are needed most, be it Leicestershire, London or Manchester. And that way, our regional teams have good local knowledge, and can be there, on-site, in person, and always available as the projects we are involved with progress further. Whether we are conducting site inspections, providing construction advice or are actively involved in a civil or structural engineering project, the architects, builders and engineers we work with can put a name to a face. They have the security and confidence that we’re close to the project, understand the specific demands of the local area, and are part of the team from start to finish.”
With the Reading office open and ready for business, there are already plans to open further regional offices.
