Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK’s leading ports group, is inviting talented Graduates to apply for its Graduate Training Scheme 2023.
Applications are now open for eight Graduate roles across a number of locations and specialisms, including Port Operations, Property, Commercial, HR and Consents and Environment Projects.
Starting in October 2023, ABP’s two-year Graduate Training Scheme is designed to give graduates a 360-degree view of the UK’s leading port operator, providing them with the necessary skills and experience to become a future leader in the maritime industry.
ABP handles around 25% of all UK seaborne trade – more than 85 million tonnes of cargo every year. The ports group also contributes £7.5 billion to the UK economy every year and supports over 119,000 jobs.
Chloe Nye, ABP HR Graduate, said: “One thing that really attracted me to ABP was their commitment to improving and supporting diversity. Learning that ABP was the first port company in the UK to introduce PPE that was specifically designed for women was really inspiring and demonstrated to me that ABP is an organisation that takes meaningful actions to fulfil their diversity strategy.”
Kerry Thompson, Head of ABP Academy, commented: “This scheme offers a fantastic opportunity to explore and learn more about the maritime as well as many other industries we work with, from construction to agriculture and renewable energy.
“We believe that a diverse team is a stronger team and would like to encourage all Graduates who are interested in pursuing a career at ABP to apply.” The closing date for applications is Friday, 6th January 2023.
