It’s never too early to prepare for the Festive Season

As summer comes to a close and autumn is peeping around the corner our thoughts will soon turn to the Festive Season.  I truly love the run up to Christmas, planning menus, looking for the perfect gifts and hoping that the decorations have survived being in storage and the lights still work!!

At this most magical time of the year I am considering a visit to one of the many Christmas Markets held throughout Europe. I need to revamp my baubles, enjoy a glass of mulled wine, try local delicacies and pick up some unique gifts.

If you have never visited a Christmas Market before then Austria is a great starting point, with the backdrop of the Austrian Lake District and a Christmas museum. Take a cruise on Lake Wolfgang and take the opportunity to visit Salzburg. Travel by coach from a local pick up point and enjoy 6 nights in this stunning region from only £729 per person.

I am looking at a short break, so Europe’s largest Christmas Market, Cologne, is ideal.  There are seven markets in this amazing city plus another wonderful market in Aachen and a three night stay in Belgium, including all your market visits and transport from a local pick up point from only £309 per person.

Travel by coach from my local pick up point (Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Stowmarket to name a few) gives me the chance to sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery.

One thing I have always wanted to do is to visit Lapland, a day trip of a lifetime. You journey 100 kilometres above the Arctic Circle to the remote heart of Swedish Lapland and find the secret home of the real Santa Claus. Have a private family meeting with Santa Claus, so don’t forget your wish list! have an exhilarating snow mobile ride and a ride on a sleigh, even the thermal clothing is thrown in for you to keep cosy and warm.
