Bruisyard Hall’s star chef to cook up a treat at Suffolk Show

The Suffolk Show is all about celebrating everything that’s great about Suffolk, especially the county’s bounty of delicious seasonal produce. And this year Bruisyard Hall’s Head Chef, Richard Grinyer-Power, will be in the Cookery Theatre demonstrating a delicious locally sourced dish and offering a few tips to boot!

Gather some friends and family and come along to the final day of the event on Thursday 31st May at Trinity Park, and experience a slice of Bruisyard Hall’s very own catering magic.

Richard explains: “I’ll be conjuring up a meal to remember, made purely from local, seasonal produce. Cannon of Suffolk lamb, smoked aubergine puree, confit tomato, radish, asparagus and pickled courgette. All raised, farmed and harvested from the area.”

Richard also promises to share expert tips and tricks to guests. “It’s all about showing people why seasonal is the healthiest and tastiest way to eat. And giving them some inspiration and ideas to take away and try out for themselves.”

Why seasonal is great for Suffolk’s health

Richard is passionate about using seasonal produce. “It’s important for so many reasons. You support the local economy, and our farmers, for one. But it’s great for your health too, as seasonal vegetables have more nutrients in them than mass produced alternatives. And eating seasonal means you’re getting the the best and freshest produce available. It’s even great for your wallet, as the costs of travel and import taxes are reduced when buying local, seasonal produce. It’s the best way forwards for responsibly sourced, healthy and great tasting food.

“Here in Suffolk, we’re spoiled for quality produce. Freshly caught fish and mussels, beans and pulses from the likes of Hodmedods. Gressingham Duck, Dingley Dell Pork, the list goes on. Seasonal makes sense in Suffolk.”

Bruisyard Hall’s GM, Alan Sabol, was delighted that Richard will be taking a little bit of the luxury and quality of Bruisyard to the Suffolk Show. “We, and the wedding parties who stay with us at Bruisyard Hall, love Richard’s passion and talent for creating amazing menus and dishes from seasonal ingredients. There’s no one better at turning the latest offerings from the fields, farms, and seas in and around Suffolk into phenomenal and unforgettable cuisine. We’re proud to see him turning Suffolk’s spoils of produce into a meal that will delight guests at the Suffolk Show.”
