New Partners appointed at Lovewell Blake

Local Accountants, Business Advisors and Financial Planners, Lovewell Blake, has announced the appointment of two new partners; Mary Schofield and Leigh Thurston.

After training and qualifying with one of the big four firms in Thames Valley, Mary Schofield spent a year in the industry sector, before returning to a professional firm.  Following a career break, Mary joined the tax team at Lovewell Blake in 2008, specialising in corporation and international tax issues, in particular advising on capital allowances, research and development claims and issues associated with doing business overseas.  Mary is based between the firm’s Norwich and Lowestoft offices.

Leigh Thurston, who initially joined Lovewell Blake as a trainee in 2004  at the firm’s Halesworth office, splits his time between the Ely and Thetford offices.  Leigh works with a wide variety of clients ranging from owner-managed businesses to private individuals.  Leigh has specialist knowledge of various accounting software packages and is treasurer of the Diss Business Forum.

Welcoming the partners, senior partner Paul Briddon said, “Mary has brought considerable experience and specialist tax expertise to the firm, while Leigh has played a key role in expanding our business in Thetford, as well as in establishing our Ely office since 2016.

“They are both excellent ambassadors for the firm and good examples of our commitment to career development. The partners are delighted to welcome them, and look forward to them making a significant contribution to the partnership.”
