The world of Bargain Hunt and Flog It! will be under the spotlight at the latest Lovewell Blake/Suffolk Coastal NFU Farmers’ Evening in Halesworth on Wednesday 4 December, when two experts from auctioneers Durrants will be the speakers.
Antiques and militaria expert Mark Whistler will be unveiling some of the secrets of the auction room, while agricultural auctioneer Richard Prentice will speak about how auctions work in the farming world.
Mr Whistler has worked in the antiques trade since his first job as an apprentice, and is now a registered valuer for probate and insurance purposes. He has over 40 years’ experience in shooting, collecting and researching all types of firearms, and is also an NRA licensed Range Officer.
Mr Prentice graduated from Harper Adams in 2001 and joined Durrants in 2003. A member of the CAAV, he became a director at Durrants in 2010, and specialises in agricultural matters including basic farm payments, estate management, farm agency, machinery valuation and auctioneering, as well as undertaking all forms of agricultural valuation.
“We are delighted to welcome two leading local auctioneers for what should be an interesting and fun presentation to round off our year of farmers’ evenings,” said Lovewell Blake agricultural services partner Ryan Lincoln, who will chair the meeting.
“These events are always a convivial way of catching up with the latest developments in the farming world.”
The Farmers’ Evening is one of a series of such presentations organised by Lovewell Blake’s agriculture team, in conjunction with Suffolk Coastal NFU. The event takes place at Halesworth Golf Club on Wednesday 4 December at 7.30pm, and will include a buffet. Attendance is free; to book a place, call Ryan Lincoln on 01986 873163 or email.
