Support your local hospice on Suffolk Day

Support your local hospice on Suffolk Day

Is your business planning to celebrate Suffolk Day on 21st June, or simply looking to raise its profile in Suffolk over the coming months?

Why not add a charitable twist to your day, by orchestrating a sponsored challenge, themed dress-up day, bake sale, raffle or sweepstake, to raise money for a good local cause? Your contribution could even be as straightforward, as adding 50p or £1.00 to your sale prices, and donating the extra money to the hospice.

If, however, you’re looking more at raising your company’s awareness within the community before and during Suffolk Day, St Elizabeth Hospice is providing the opportunity for you to sponsor our Suffolk Remembers event – which will take place in Felixstowe Seafront Gardens on Thursday 21 June. Over 4,000 candles will be lit, to spell out the words Suffolk Remembers, as hundreds of people gather together to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones no longer with us. Each of the 16 letters, are available for company sponsorship, where in return for £250, your company will receive promotion on our website, our social media and at the event itself.

The hospice, which cares for local people living with a progressive or terminal illness, is also looking for support from Suffolk businesses which are using the day to celebrate the work that goes on in the county. Jazmin Peach, corporate fundraiser at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “Last year we received some fantastic support, with some of the most notable coming from the Ipswich Building Society team, who cycled round to all of their branches on Suffolk Day and raised money for us at the same time. It was a difficult challenge for them but they did it and raised a fantastic amount of money for us in sponsorship at the same time.

“This year we’d love for other organisations to get behind Suffolk Day and support our work in the local community. There’s a wide range of activities you can do with your staff and clients; the options are endless. Alternatively you can support our Suffolk Remembers event which has a great package available for sponsors. Either way you’ll know that every penny you raise locally, stays in the area so that we can continue to care for local people who need us.”

Each year, St Elizabeth Hospice needs to generate £10.5million pounds so it can continue to offer its services to the people of Suffolk free of charge.
