Free Business Breakfast webinar to highlight domestic Abuse and it’s impact on businesses

As part of White Ribbon and Lighthouse’s 45th Anniversary we are holding a Free Business Breakfast webinar to highlight Domestic Abuse and it’s impact on businesses and their employees.

Despite its prevalence, domestic abuse has often been seen as just that – a domestic issue. However, we are increasingly seeing employers taking an interest in how it impacts their employees, no doubt in recognition of the fact that we don’t leave our home lives at the door of the (virtual or physical) office. Domestic abuse frequently extends into work itself, with 75% of employed survivors reporting that they are harassed by abusive partners while at work (TUC 2014).

The Government has also recognised that employers can play a part in supporting those affected by domestic abuse; in January 2021, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy published a report looking at how employers can support individuals suffering from domestic abuse.

As part of a holistic response to domestic abuse as a workplace issue Lighthouse is committed to building awareness, understanding, skills and a drive to a longer-term culture change.

The event will be hosted by Katherine Ahluwalia, Lighthouse’s Training Manager and Chair of the Ipswich Domestic Abuse Forum.

Lighthouse works with businesses to ensure equality for their workforces, in the context of domestic abuse.

Wednesday 24th November 2021 Time: 8:30 – 10:00am
