Coffee Firm Helps Fuel the Ambition of Local Teenage Podcaster

Talking Teenage Life is a podcast set up by Rose Courteen, who wants to help teenagers navigate this challenging time and learn from others on how to live life to the fullest.

With an ambition to become a broadcast journalist, Rose launched the podcast in March 2019 when she was just 13. She has already recorded two series and has picked up 2000 listeners, with high profile interviews that include The Daily Telegraph’s Cartoonist, Matt and Amelia Reynolds from BBC Look East. This year she was also shortlisted for the BBC Young Reporter of the Year Award.

Having interviewed Paddy & Scott’s founder, Scott Russell for a previous series, the Suffolk coffee company agreed to sponsor Rose’s burgeoning podcast. “I am delighted and excited that Paddy and Scott’s has agreed to sponsor the current series as its brand value is fuelling ambition which fits perfectly into my original idea for the podcast. The sponsorship will help me enhance my shows even more with the purchase of better recording equipment,” says Rose.

“As a company, it is our aim to support ambition wherever we see it and Rose came to us with a fantastic podcast that was already in full flow. She’s got so much confidence, creativity and commitment to what she’s doing that we were only too happy to support her,” says Scott Russell, founder at Paddy & Scott’s. “As part of the sponsorship, we’ve also set up a special code on the website for Rose’s listeners and will give 20% of purchases to the charity Young Minds when listeners use an exclusive code.”

“This sponsorship is helping fuel my own ambition to become a broadcast journalist and I really appreciate the support. Many people will sit down with a cup of coffee to listen to a podcast, so Paddy & Scott’s is the perfect partner to work with!” adds Rose.

For the third series, Rose will be focusing on ten different topics: Race, Body Image, Faith, Bullying, Friendships, Mental Health, Leadership, Family Life, Social Media and Dating. These topics will be relevant to the teenage years and the problems or difficulties that occur during them, with advice, ideas and comments. “I am hoping to create the podcast into a discussion with an adult who is familiar with the topic, two other teenagers and me,” she adds.

Talking Teenage Life is available on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and most other podcast platforms
