Ufford Park hosts the Disabled British Golf Open 2017

For the fourth year in a row, Ufford Park hosted the Disabled British Golf Open 2017 this week.  The tournament welcomes players with a range of disabilities who travel from all over the UK to participate alongside the disabled golfers who play regularly at Ufford Park.

This year there were 22 golfers playing and the tournament, which began on Tuesday 12th September, ended with a prize giving ceremony on Thursday 14th September.  Trophies were awarded to the best nett and gross Stableford scores for each day and overall. The gross winner was Ashley Harris and the nett winner was Robert Parsons.  A full list of prize winners will be available online at http://www.handigolf.net/DISABLED-BRITISH-OPEN- shortly.

Stuart Robertson, Director of Golf at Ufford Park said: “We’re proud to have hosted this important tournament for another year, and we were impressed by the high standard of play amongst participants.”

Ray Lee, this year’s tournament organiser said “We were delighted by the turn out for this year’s event and we believe it is getting stronger every year, with more players expressing an interest and support from our Ufford Park volunteers their time to help with bunker raking and ball spotting.  Ufford Park has been a great venue for us with its many disabled access points and facilities, which explains why we came back here for the fourth year running.  We look forward to many successful British Disabled Golf Open tournaments in the future.”
