This April National Pet Month is celebrating its 30th Year of honouring our pets and encouraging responsible pet ownership.
This annual awareness month is a registered charity which brings together animal welfare charities, professional bodies, pet businesses, schools, youth groups and pet lovers. Every April it urges people to host and attend local events designed to raise money for pet related charities across the UK.
To show support, Suffolk-based hotel, Ufford Park is encouraging dog owners to enjoy all the pet-friendly leisure activities that Suffolk has to offer. Such as the two-mile trim trail on the perimeter of Ufford Park’s golf course, which is perfect for a dog walk. The Park Bar can offer some welcome refreshments for you and your four-legged friend upon completion.
Suffolk is packed full of dog friendly attractions.
With over 3,500 miles of footpaths, there are plenty of picturesque farmland walks to explore. From Ufford Park visitors can follow coastal footpaths or join riverside routes for dog friendly strolls such as the Fyn Valley or Stour Valley walks.
The Suffolk Coast has some of the most stunning beaches in England. Many, such as Southwold, Felixstowe and Walberswick provide scope to enjoy the seaside with your pet all year round. All have dog friendly beach areas even if restrictions apply on the main beaches during peak season.
The weather may even be mild enough this April for a picnic in the Rendlesham woodlands or even Thetford or Dunwich forest.
National Trust sites such as Dunwich Heath and Flatford are also dog friendly options and both have tempting tea rooms to stop and have afternoon tea and cake. In the neighbouring historic towns such as Melton and Woodbridge, there are many welcoming dog-friendly pubs if you’d prefer a gentle stroll followed by a pub lunch and a pint.
If you want to make a weekend of it, why not stay in one of the hotel’s dog friendly rooms*?
Upon check-in your dog will receive its own goodie bag complete with dog treats.
Set in 120 acres of stunning parkland in the heart of Suffolk Ufford Park Woodbridge, hotel, golf and spa is easily accessed via the A12 and is perfectly situated to visit popular Suffolk attractions.
