D-Tech International takes top spot for laptop loans in APUC

Woodbridge-based Library technology provider, D-Tech International, has been appointed as the only laptop self-service supplier on the Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges (APUC) purchasing framework agreement.

Although the consortium was established in 2007 as the procurement centre of expertise for Scotland’s universities and colleges, responsible for establishing collaborative purchasing frameworks for the higher and further education institutions across Scotland, its services are available across the UK as part of UK Universities Procurement Consortia (UKUPC).

APUC leads, or jointly manages, collaborative tenders on an institutions’ behalf, working with other purchasing consortia across the UK. As APUC’s sole supplier for laptop self-service, D-Tech will have improved access to a marketplace that includes universities, colleges, NHS libraries and more.

Wilson Bowers, Sales Manager at D-Tech, commented: “We are really pleased to have been awarded this opportunity by APUC. As the only laptop self-service provider on the Framework we have a great opportunity to supply our ComputeIT solution to more establishments across the UK.”

ComputeIT is a multi-bay modular locker system designed to store, charge and deploy laptops and devices to users via a touch screen interface. The self-service solution frees up staff from issuing duties and the use of laptops as opposed to desk-tops offers a more flexible, space-saving IT provision that is more cohesive to the way students study today.
