With a rich history of over 50 years at the club, George Burley’s deep connection to Suffolk and his passion for sports make him an exceptional choice for this prestigious role.

Despite his Scottish heritage, George has resided in Suffolk since 1971, and his local dedication has fuelled his commitment to both the club and the county. As Club President, he assumes a pivotal role as a symbol of the club’s values and mission. The hockey club under the Ipswich Sport Club umbrella continues to achieve remarkable success, adding a new champion each year to their illustrious roster, such as Hannah Martin England & GB International (Hockey). The club has also seen stars in Tennis and Squash to the late Elena Baltacha who was British Number 1 and Lucy Turmel, England International for squash.
