Changes to bin collections over the festive period in Ipswich

With the General Election fast approaching, Ipswich Borough Council is reminding residents to check that they have photo ID to ensure they can have their say on 4 July.
This is the first General Election at which, under national legislation, anyone voting in a polling station will need to have approved photo ID with them in order to receive their ballot paper(s).
Acceptable forms of ID include passports and driving licences, a blue badge, and some concessionary travel cards. If a form of ID has expired, it will still be accepted so long as the photograph is still a good likeness of the individual.
Only one form of photo ID needs to be shown. It needs to be the original version, and not a photocopy or a digital version. The name on the ID should be the same as the name you used to register to vote.

Helen Pluck, Acting Returning Officer for the Ipswich Constituency says: “We want to make sure everyone has the chance to have their say on 4 July, so we’re reminding residents intending to vote in person to check they have an eligible form of ID. You’ll be asked to present your ID to staff before you’re given your ballot paper. We also want to remind voters that a private area will be available in all polling stations if voters would prefer their identify to be checked in private.”
