Country house wedding venue Bruisyard Hall welcomes new head chef

Bruisyard Hall, the country house wedding venue just outside Framlingham, welcomes Richard Grinyer-Power to the team, as Head Chef.

Since moving to East Anglia in 2016, Richard has been Head Chef at the Sibton White Horse, a 2 Rosette pub which, over the last six months, has been Voted Suffolk Dining Pub of 2018, by the Good Pub Guide and been nominated for a parliamentary award in recognition of its ‘outstanding food, cooked with passion’ by Suffolk Coastal MP Therese Coffey.

Commenting on his new role, Richard said: “As a family business in the rolling Suffolk countryside, Bruisyard Hall has great relationships with local suppliers and a huge range of produce on its doorstep. It has a clear focus on providing a quality product and exceptional customer service to its customers and their guests. It’s a great fit for me and I’m very happy to be here.”

Prior to the move to Suffolk, Richard has been cooking in professional kitchens for over 20 years, working as head chef in 2-3 rosette restaurants across the country. He was also a senior lecturer in one of the country’s largest catering colleges, where he worked with Michelin-starred chefs including Josh Eggleton and Peter Sanchez-Iglesias. In this role, he also provided the catering for the BBC Food and Farming Awards and appeared on TV and radio talking about his dishes and championing food education.

Robert Rous, owner of Bruisyard Hall, said of the appointment: “Richard believes in delivering the best local, seasonal ingredients, thoughtfully cooked and beautifully presented. We’re excited that he’s taken up the reins to build upon our reputation for producing top notch food in a variety of styles that will delight our guests.”

Alan Sabol, GM of Bruisyard Hall, added: “Richard is well-known for his skill and professionalism and will be a great asset to the growing team here at Bruisyard. I’m looking forward to working with him again, to develop our fine dining experience for weddings and events here at the Hall and Barn.”
