New 12-week mental health course to support Suffolk businesses

Optima UK is proud to announce the launch of its innovative ‘Supporting Suffolk: Road to Success’ programme, a fully funded initiative aimed at enhancing workplace mental health for businesses in Suffolk. Businesses can sign up to the programme until January 6, 2025.

The 12-week mental health support programme is designed to help local organisations address the challenges posed by mental health issues, ultimately improving employee wellbeing and overall performance.

Funded by Babergh District and Mid Suffolk Councils through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the initiative reflects the council’s commitment to healthier work environments in the region.
The programme will provide participants with tools and techniques to recover from mental health challenges, develop their skill sets, and overcome barriers to performance. It includes bi-weekly one-on-one coaching sessions tailored to individual needs, allowing employees to focus on their specific challenges and aspirations. Additionally, weekly group workshops will cover a range of topics, ensuring a comprehensive and personalised approach to mental health improvement.

The unique blend of personalised coaching and interactive group sessions offers a comprehensive solution that goes beyond what is typically available. This structured approach addresses immediate mental health concerns and contributes to a reduction in absenteeism and improvement in productivity.
As Optima UK launches the programme exclusively for Suffolk businesses, there are plans to expand its reach to other regions in the future. This initiative marks a significant step in addressing workplace mental health barriers.

Larraine Boorman, CEO at Optima UK, said:

“Optima’s approach to mental health support is particularly significant in the current climate, where businesses face increasing pressures that can adversely affect employee wellbeing. The ongoing impact of the pandemic has heightened awareness of mental health issues in the workplace, making this programme timely and necessary.
“When businesses engage with ‘Supporting Suffolk: Road to Success,’ they’ll be able to boost their own development and productivity while contributing to a broader commitment to their employees’ wellbeing.”

Suffolk businesses interested in joining the programme or seeking further information can register by emailing supportingsuffolk@optima-uk.com. The deadline for signing up to the programme is January 6, 2025.
