Christies Care scores outstanding CQC rating

Saxmundham-based Christies Care, the in-home care provider, has been awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating following its recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The CQC Inspection happened on 14 October 2016, followed up with visits to clients in their homes and calls to clients for feedback on the service they received. The report stated that “People’s experiences of care were extremely positive.” And that “Staff knew each person as an individual and what mattered to them. Privacy and dignity was respected by staff with whom positive relationships had been formed and who promoted individuality.”

The CQC concluded that Christies Care’s clients “received outstanding care which was continually reviewed to ensure the best possible outcomes”. That “people were at the centre of their care and found that their care and support was planned with them and not for them. People were supported to attend a range of leisure activities as well as being able to develop their own independent living skills. Each person was treated as an individual and as a result their care was tailored to meet their exact needs.”

Lin Barnes, Director of Christies Care said: “In this industry you can’t stand still, regulatory changes and the changing political landscape mean we have to work hard to stay ahead of the game. Our team from management to support staff are all extremely motivated to deliver the very best care to our clients and support to our carers. I’m so proud of them all for the contributions they make daily to keep our forward momentum and it’s the icing on the cake that we were able to demonstrate this to the CQC in our recent inspection. We’ve given each of our staff an extra day’s holiday to thank them for their continued hard work. It’s been a big year for us and, with our new offices up and running, we’re well placed to continue to deliver a really excellent service to our clients in 2017.”
