Award winning Suffolk hotel shapes up with gym make-over

Ufford Park Woodbridge Hotel Golf and Spa has given its gym a new look as part of its continuing programme of refurbishment.  The 40-station air conditioned gym and pool area makeover is in keeping with the ‘look and feel’ of improvements in other areas of the hotel.

As well as benefiting from a new look, Hattie Clarke, who has been a member of the Ufford Park family for four years, has recently been promoted to health club manager.

With an established health and fitness background, Hattie was a qualified personal trainer by the age of 18.  A former competitive swimmer, Hattie comes from a sporting family – her mother was a gymnast and her father is a former GB Duathlete.

Commenting on the gym refurbishment Ufford Park’s general manager for spa and health club, Simon Thadani said: “The recent updates to the gym form part of our ongoing programme of refurbishment. We are so pleased with the changes; the gym is now a more stylish and inspiring work out space which we will continue to upgrade over the coming months.”

On Hattie’s promotion Simon said: “Hattie is a much valued member of the Ufford Park team and was the natural fit for health club manager.  Her enthusiasm and can do attitude are infectious and is loved by both staff and members.”

Hattie added “I am delighted to have been promoted to gym manager.  Overseeing the refurbishment was the first challenge of my role and I loved every minute of it! We are all so pleased with how it looks and are looking forward to making future upgrades to the suite of equipment.

“I am excited about what the future holds for the fitness team and am already getting stuck in and making the role my own.”

The fully air conditioned gym offers a range of cardiovascular equipment from bikes, treadmills, rowers and elliptical X trainers. As part of the refurbishment, five new state of the art cross trainers with personal viewing screens (PVS) and a new half squat machine have been added.  Personal viewing screens have also been added to the existing treadmills.

The gym, dance studio and corridor areas now have a new stylish grey colour scheme and new flooring.

The dry ladies changing rooms and poolside areas have also had a mini refurbishment.
