Tuddenham Mill named best Suffolk restaurant

Tuddenham Mill has been named Suffolk’s best restaurant for the third year running in the 2018/19 Good Food Guide. The three-rosette restaurant and boutique hotel is set around the mill’s original water wheel and serves a range of beautifully presented, great tasting food using locally sourced produce.

The Good Food Guide review explains: “Maybe it’s the combination of millpond, dipping willows, gliding swans and meadows, or maybe the food coming out of the talented kitchen that makes this place in an ordinary village in an unremarkable part of East Anglia feel like an effortlessly lovely oasis.

It continues: “Come for refined food, but don’t expect fluff or fuss: Lee Bye’s style is rugged, unpretentious, uncompromisingly ingredient-led.”

Guests can choose to push the boat out with the taster menu from £65 per person or choose from the a la carte menu with main course dishes ranging from £19-£32. A two course set lunch menu is available at £21 and there is also an early supper menu from £20.

Tuddenham Mill is situated just off the A14 between Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket.  Focused on comfort and luxury, it has 21 rooms, each with king -sized beds, Bose sound systems and smart TVs, walk-in showers, Missoni dressing gowns and Espa toiletries. There are also dog friendly rooms.
