The Botanist Plants Roots in Ipswich

The countdown has begun to the eagerly-anticipated opening of the award-winning pub and bar operator New World Trading Company’s latest botanical concept in Old Post Office, Cornhill, Ipswich.

The Ipswich premises, acquired by the Cheshire-based operator, famed for quirky botanical cocktails and hanging kebabs, will open to the public on Tuesday 3rd May.

Natasha Waterfield, Chief Operating Officer for New World Trading Company said, “Bringing our unique concepts to new cities and towns is one of the most exciting parts of my role. The Cornhill is such a stunning location, and I can’t wait to open the doors.”

“The New World Trading Company’s decision to open The Botanist venue in Ipswich is a great vote of confidence in the town and will further enhance the range of hospitality venues available to the public” Cllr David Ellesmere, Leader of Ipswich Borough, said, “We have worked hard to secure a quality operator for this location and one that would sensitively fit with this important heritage asset. I anticipate that it will bring additional vibrancy to the Town Centre and Cornhill area and it will ensure that a currently vacant and listed building is brought back into use.”

The company boasts 33 venues and has announced several new locations in recent months, including Cardiff, Plymouth, Sheffield, and Lincoln, and shows no sign of stopping.

Rachel Guy, heading up recruitment for the new venue, “Our stunning new home requires incredible individuals to join our family. Those interested in joining our team will receive award-winning training and the chance to progress across our nationwide brand family”.
