A selection of restaurants and shops offering home delivery in Suffolk – Update

A few businesses in Suffolk have adapted their systems and are able to offer food to their local communities and loyal customers.  Last week we gathered a list of some of the restaurants and shops in the Suffolk area that are offering delivery services.

Whilst isolation continues, we will update this list based on feedback from the businesses offering these services.  Please get in touch if you would like your food or drink delivery service listed.

Update 5.5.2020

  • Emmett’s is the oldest artisan ham and bacon producer in the UK. Established in 1820, family owned and still operating from the same premises in the same Suffolk village they make ham not sham!  In the current situation they are still open for business, be it visiting the shop, delivered orders locally, or couriered orders nationwide coupled – visit their website to order 
  • The Lowestoft Distillery Company have always delivered their spirits free of charge to all customers in the Waveney area and have now decided to include the whole of the UK in this initiative.  Visit the website store at www.lowestoftdistillery.co.uk where online customers can order not only order their Gins but also Aprons, Polo Shirts and soon to be included items such as local historical books and promotional items.  They are also currently including a 100ml bottle of their in house created Hand Sanitiser with each purchase of Gin.
  • McDonalds in Ipswich (Cardinal Park) will also be opening on 13th May, deliveries only.  During the trial, McDonald’s will be serving a limited menu and will be open for reduced hours (11am to 10pm).  Visit the website for more information.

  • Fabulous Funghi! – A Gourmet Mushroom Company – bringing you Oysters, Shiitake, Lions Mane, Enoki  from Suffolk.  Check out their Facebook page.
  • Portman Takeaways – offering a wide selection of Chinese, Thai and pizza delivered to your door, in the Stowmarket area.  Take a look at their Facebook page
  • The Dolphin Inn, Thorpeness – essential supplies for residents in Aldringham and Thorpeness.  Box will include fresh vegetables, bread, cheese, ready meals and much more.  Call 01728 454994, mornings only.
  • CJ Jones and Son, Suffolk – Fruit and veg delivery in Hadleigh and Framlingham – Email
  • Baileys Delicatessen, Beccles – Basic items, such as meat and cheese to milk, sugar, tea, flour and coffee.  Take a look at their website.
  • Focus Organic, Halesworth – Focus Organic, Vegan, Vegetarian and gluten-free available, pasta, tinned food, cleaning products – to name but a few!  Check out their Facebook page

Restaurants/Pubs

  • The Galley, Woodbridge – are closed for the time being but are now offering a delivery service on Friday and Saturday evenings.
  • The Queen, Brandeston The takeaway menu can be found on their website.
  • The Woolpack –  Orders can be collected or delivered. For the full menu visit the website or call 01473 215862.

Bakeries and Delis

  • Hank’s Deli – an awesome deli in Ipswich that caters for vegans, and those who follow a gluten free diet.  Plenty of stock available, grocery items, ready meals, bakery goods to name but a few!
  • Black Dog Deli, Walberswick – local free delivery service for Walberswick residents, tasty sausage rolls, bakery cake, deli and ready meals – call 01502 723925.
  • Suffolk Food Hall, Wherstead – Order online for collection or delivery via the website.
  • The Cake Shop Bakery, Woodbridge – another shop in Woodbridge still open, however deliveries are also available – check out their Facebook page

Fruit, veg and essentials

  • The Bildeston Crowndelivery of boxes that will feed a couple or family for seven days.  Lots of essentials, including meat, fish, vegetables and fruit
  • Railway Farm Shop, Saxmundham offering a weekly vegetable and essentials – check out their Facebook page

  • Bidfood, Stowmarket – offering a home delivery and click and collect service from its Stowmarket depot for local people – take a look at the website

Butchers/Meat

  • The Jolly Meat Company, Hadleigh – free meat deliveries in and around Hadleigh Call 01473 810119
  • Lavenham Brook – Showcasing the best of Suffolk produce! free delivery of meat box in and around the area; meat includes (but is not limited to), rump, steaks, brisket, diced beef, beef mince and apple juice.
  • Mills and Sons Butchers, Southwold – Local deliveries of meat and cheese. Also can deliver fish, dried good and fresh eggs.  Take a look at their FB page
  • The Sausage Shop, Trimley – The popular local shop is now closed but staff will accept orders over the phone, will collection to take place outside of the shop.  Call for further information and price list 01394 277203.

Ready meals

  • Stonham BarnsBistro at the Barn is selling ready meals online and the shop will deliver essential goods to locals –
  • Jess Cooks, Stowmarket  – home cooked and healthy frozen ready meals for children, free delivery to locals.

Fish 

  • Munro’s Fish, Sudbury – For orders over £20, will deliver within a seven mile radius
  • Simpers, Ramsholtoffering home deliveries of fresh fish, minimum order £25 Email.

  • Giffords Hall Vineyard – here at SuffolkWire we love a wine from this wonderful vineyard.  We didn’t know they also sell gin and vodka – just what we need to get us through this isolation!

Sweet treats

  • Yum Yum Tree Fudge, Bury St Edmunds – order your fudge online!
  • Cocoa Mama,Eye –  treat yourself to freshly made chocolates! Can collect or will offer free local delivery. Take a look at their website, if you dare!
