Avanti: ONLINE, ON TIME, NO FINE

The self-assessment deadline has passed, and Suffolk based accountants Avanti submitted all tax returns ONLINE, ON TIME, NO FINE for the 20th consecutive year.

Victoria Sharp, Avanti MD tells us  what this means for the team, “As many of you will already know, December 2019 saw us reach our 20th trading anniversary,  reaching this landmark is  a real testament to the team and the processes we have in place. Our systems have been tried, tested and developed to meet the ever changing needs of our clients – meaning that we were able to sign clients up and complete their tax returns right up to deadline day. We are all delighted that our hard work has paid off, and our 100% record has been maintained, this really is a team effort.”

Avanti Client Donna Walker, Director of Aromatic Answers Ltd adds, “Avanti Tax Accountants have looked after my accounts for the past 8 years and have been exceptional at keeping me on track with deadlines which takes a huge weight off my mind and allows me to concentrate on my business”

Despite the filing success of the team at Avanti, it is estimated by HMRC that almost 1 million self-assessment taxpayers Nationwide failed to submit by midnight on the 31st January, meaning that HMRC anticipate raising almost £100 million in automatic penalties issued to those clients who have not yet filed their tax return.

The really bad news is that if your return goes overdue by more than 3 months, your fines will increase – Victoria advises “ If your return is more than 3 months late for submission additional penalties of £10 per day can be demanded, up to a maximum of £900, followed by further charges six and 12 months after the deadline.”

If your return is late, Avanti would like to help you – providing jargon free, friendly, competitive accountancy remotely for clients in Suffolk and beyond.
