Christies Care wins at the Suffolk Care Awards

Live-in care specialist, Christies Care, won the Excellent Training award at the Suffolk Care Awards held last week and were ‘Highly Commended’ in the Student placement/apprenticeship category.

The Suffolk Care Awards are run by Care Development East and SAICP, with the aim of celebrating good practice within the Care Industry. Suffolk Care Awards 2018 said; “This live-in care service recognises that having outstandingly-trained carers will improve its service to carers and clients and allow growth, despite competition.”

Christies Care’s induction programme takes place over 11 days and is closely linked to the Care Certificate. The training programme also includes a two-day dementia awareness course.

Because Christies Care is nationwide, it works across several local authorities and CCGs, there is an advantage of being able to tap into the developments in those areas and this is incorporated into training programmes.

The Suffolk Care Awards looked favourably on the fact that Christies Care “has thought long and hard about the best way to deliver a package of training support that enables and empowers carers to work intensively with customers.”

Lin Barnes, Director and registered Manager for Christies Care is thrilled at the recognition in both categories: “We are very proud to have won this award which recognises our commitment to the training and development of our staff.  We work hard at Christies to provide a culture that fosters learning and growth, with the outcome that we can provide the very best quality care.

She continues: “With further recognition in the student placement/apprenticeship nominations, we are assured that our industry-recognised development and training is delivering an unsurpassed level of service to our clients”.
