3 top tips for a quick and easy wedding

For many the thought of spending years planning your wedding makes you feel tired and uninspired. For this growing group, Alan Sabol, GM of country house wedding venue Bruisyard Hall, has put together his top 3 tips for a quick and easy wedding.

Planning a wedding needn’t be a full on affair, in fact, with a little flexibility and creative thinking, you could bag yourself a beautiful venue like Bruisyard Hall, and lay on an event that’s as memorable as it is streamlined.

So, here’s my top three tips to kick off planning a quick and easy wedding.

Book your venue. Many popular venues will be booked up well in advance but it’s always worth calling to ask about late availability. A sudden cancellation (it happens more than you’d think) may give you the chance to book your preferred date. It helps if you can be flexible, and not tied to a significant day. And it’s far easier if you’re open to marrying outside the busy late spring and summer wedding months.

Plus, if you jump on the growing mid-week wedding trend, so much the better. Mid-week weddings are a sure-fire way to jump the queue even with popular venues, and will give you a better chance of being able to work with your preferred service providers – who are usually quieter outside of weekends.

Make your guest list. Quick and easy may mean you don’t have as large a guest list as the average wedding. With fewer guests, there are many more options available for the ceremony. Once you’ve got a date and a venue, get those invitations sent out. You don’t have to get your invitations made for you, you can pick up some beautiful wedding stationary easily online or from the high street.

Decide your budget. It might seem strange that this comes third, but the amount of guests you’ll have influences the budget as much as anything. Knowing your numbers will let you know how much wiggle room there is in your budget.

And from those three key decisions you can design a simple and sensational wedding.
