Suffolk business Hamilton Madden launches as a new independent energy broker
13/07/2026 -
Hamilton Madden, a new independent energy brokerage backed by two decades of sector experience, has officially launched to help businesses across the UK secure better energy deals and take control of rising costs.
The company is a sister business to East Green Energy, which has spent 20 years working in the energy sector. Hamilton Madden draws on that experience while operating as a fully independent broker, meaning it isn’t tied to any single supplier and can genuinely shop the whole market on a client’s behalf.
Since launching, Hamilton Madden has already secured over 10MWh of energy contracts.
The launch comes at a time when many businesses are struggling to keep on top of volatile energy prices, confusing contract terms, and rates that creep up unnoticed. Hamilton Madden’s aim is to take that burden away from business owners — comparing the market, handling negotiations, and flagging savings opportunities that most people simply don’t have time to look for themselves.
Director George Gawthrop said the idea behind Hamilton Madden came from watching too many good businesses pay over the odds for their energy imports, and receive under the odds for their exports, simply because nobody had the time to check.
“We kept seeing the same thing: a business owner far too busy running the actual business to sit down and pick apart an energy contract, so they’d just renew and hope for the best,” said George. “That’s not their fault — it’s just not what they’re set up to do. It’s what we’re set up to do. We’ve built Hamilton Madden to be the team that goes through the small print, asks the awkward questions, and pushes for a fair price.”
Hamilton Madden offers energy procurement support to businesses of all sizes, from independent contract reviews and market comparisons to ongoing account management. As an independent broker, the company isn’t aligned with any particular energy supplier, allowing it to focus solely on what works best for each client.
The business is now taking on new clients and offering free, no-obligation reviews for any business unsure whether they’re currently on a competitive deal.
