East Green Energy named finalist in East Anglian Daily Times Business Awards 2026
10/06/2026 -
East Green Energy has been named a finalist in the prestigiousEast Anglian Daily Times Business Awards 2026, having been shortlisted in the highly competitive Growth Business of the Year category.
The East Anglian Daily Times Business Awards celebrate the innovators, employers and business leaders who help drive Suffolk’s economy forward and make a significant contribution to the region.
The shortlisting reflects a period of major growth for the Melton based business, which has expanded rapidly as demand for renewable energy has increased across the UK. It remains a family run company, growing from its Suffolk roots into one of the country’s leading renewable energy specialists, supporting businesses and homeowners with renewable technologies that lower costs and reduce environmental impact.
The business has a unique heritage. Before establishing East Green Energy almost 20 years ago, the family behind the company spent generations working within Suffolk’s farming community as pig farmers. That family ethos is still at the heart of the business today and shapes the way they work with their clients.
East Green Energy has experienced a significant expansion as demand for renewable energy solutions has increased across the UK. The company has built a reputation for delivering expert advice, high-quality installations and exceptional customer service, helping it become a recognised name within the renewable energy sector.
Commenting on the announcement, Managing Director Robbie Gawthrop said: “To be recognised as a finalist in the Growth Business of the Year category is a fantastic achievement for the whole team. We have worked incredibly hard to build a business that not only delivers for our clients but also creates opportunities for our people and supports the communities around us. As a family business with deep roots in Suffolk, it is particularly rewarding to receive recognition from an award that celebrates the very best of our region’s business community.”
He added: “The renewable energy sector has changed significantly over the past two decades and we are proud to have grown alongside it. Our success is built on the trust our customers place in us, the dedication of our team and a commitment to doing things the right way.”
The winners of the East Anglian Daily Times Business Awards 2026 will be announced at the awards ceremony later this summer.
