The Ipswich Dragon Boat Race is back!

The Ipswich Dragon Boat Race is back!

Fresh Start New beginnings are bringing the fire to the waterfront as the Dragons return for a sensational day of races!

The annual event is set to bring the Marina to life this Saturday as local corporates and teams compete in Dragonboat races, starting from 10am outside the Cult Bar on the waterfront in Ipswich.

The event, which raises vital funds for the charity, hopes to beat the £14,000 total of 2019, which would allow them to work with six children from their waiting list and start their therapeutic treatment journey. One in ten children are victims of sexual abuse and the charity wants to ensure that every child that needs our support, receives it.

Over 17,000 children are sexually abused in Suffolk, and the charity is seeking to raise awareness to help the children seek support to help rebuild their futures.

David, Dad of a 12 year old survivor said,  “We thought we had lost our daughter, she would not talk to us, would not go to school, she was self-harming and tried to take her own life.  After receiving support from the charity, they gave me back my daughter and they gave her back her life.

“I encourage everyone to take part, visit on the day and enjoy the fun and give a few bob knowing you really will help our children of the future.”

Come along and cheer on our teams, with local food vendors, games and stalls it’s fun for all the family.
