Supporting your local hospice is a piece of cake

St Elizabeth Hospice has launched a new fundraising event, ‘Home for Tea’, where supporters are invited to host a bake sale, coffee morning or tea party to raise funds for the local charity.

The events can happen at any time of year, whether you fancy celebrating National Tea Day on 21 April, or Afternoon Tea Week in August. Supporters can also host the event at work with colleagues, at home with friends and family or as part of a group involving the local community.

Businesses, cafés, tea rooms and restaurants can have a slice of the action too, each week selecting a cake to be the chosen St Elizabeth Hospice cake, with a donation made for every piece sold.

Fiona Ginn, community fundraiser at St Elizabeth Hospice said: “The hospice is lucky to have a number of fantastic supporters in the local community, and whilst some do organise bake sales or coffee mornings, many think of hosting them as part of a national charity campaign.

“Home for Tea gives supporters the materials and support to host an event at their chosen time and location, with every penny raised making a difference to local people living with a terminal or progressive illness, as well as their families and carers.”
