Suffolk PR team take first step for FIND on Orwell Walk

A team at Suffolk-based PR agency, Genesis PR, is preparing to take on a 12-mile trek along the river Orwell on Sunday 17 June to raise vital funds for Families in Need (FIND).

The Orwell Walk, Run & Cycle, organised each year by the Ipswich East Rotary Club, is one of many fundraising activities Genesis PR has stepped up to as part of their commitment to raising £2,000 for FIND throughout 2018.

The team are also offering pro-bono PR expertise to support the charity’s valuable work helping families and individuals affected by poverty and have created a new brand identity and website for the charity. The website was created by Digital Account Manager Alex Raymond.

Genesis PR’s key project for FIND has been the launch of the FIND 50 campaign to raise £100,000 for a new food bank and headquarters for the charity in Ipswich.

FIND provides food, household items, furniture, bedding and white goods free of charge to those living in Ipswich and the surrounding area who are deprived of the minimum standard of living. The charity was established by Maureen Reyne, MBE, who has run FIND voluntarily for over 25 years.

Genesis PR’s director Penny Arbuthnot said: “We are doing everything we can to support FIND so they can continue their incredible work helping the most vulnerable families and individuals in Ipswich and other parts of Suffolk.

“We are aiming to raise at least £2,000 this year, to add to over £1,000 raised in 2017. We are also encouraging as many other employers, groups and individuals as possible to become a FIND 50 fundraiser.”
