Marriott Motor Group paying for day of care and support from EACH

Marriott Motor Group is once again paying for a day of care and support from East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) across two counties today, as well as 10 hydrotherapy sessions, having raised over £13,000 last year.

The group has 14 branches across Suffolk and Norfolk, with brands such as Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda and Renault, and employs 500 people.

Those staff took part in a series of activities in 2019, including the five directors completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, customer events, a skydive and dress-down days.

They also got involved in Bag It, Bring It, Boost It, EACH’s donation drive to boost its shops, collecting approximately 120 bags worth an average of £10 each.

Anyone who passed Marriott’s Ipswich Audi showroom on 17 December would have noticed the building lit in EACH purple, too.

Paul Barnard, Marriott Motor Group Managing Director, said: “We’re delighted to have supported EACH for a second consecutive year and are very proud our fundraising activities have been able to pay for such valuable services at both the Suffolk and Norfolk hospices. My family and I have first-hand experience of the wonderful care and support offered by EACH to children and their families, often in times of real need. This invaluable service continues to be one my colleagues and I at Marriott are proud to support.”

Tracy Rennie, EACH Acting Chief Executive, said: “We rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income, so support from corporates across the region is vital. We’re absolutely delighted to have received Marriott’s backing for a second consecutive year and would like to say a big thank you to all the staff and customers. I’m pleased to announce the full total raised in 2019 was £13,436.07.

“This is enabling us to deliver our specialist service to some of the hundreds of families we offer care and support to across Suffolk and Norfolk today. It will also mean we can deliver 10 sessions of hydrotherapy in our pools at The Treehouse, our Suffolk hospice in Ipswich, and The Nook, our Norfolk hospice in Framingham Earl. These not only have multiple benefits for the child to help relieve pain and spasms, but also provide valuable opportunities for families to have fun together in a pool with the right equipment and facilities to support their child. It’s an activity most of us take for granted, but one EACH families can often miss out on.”

Marriott Motor Group raised a similar amount of money for EACH in 2018, with the total it has given now standing at £26,588.17.
