How to publicise your business – charity sponsorship

Thinking of new ways to publicise your business to the right audience? Charity sponsorship could be for you.

St Elizabeth Hospice works with local businesses by creating new engagement opportunities through various sponsorship events and acivities.

As part of Suffolk Day, the hospice worked with 15 local organisations at Suffolk Remembers (a candlelit remembrance event held in Felixstowe), which raised vital funds and promoted the businesses to potential new customers.

David Button, owner of the family-run David Button Independent Funeral Directors in Felixstowe, said: “When I spoke to the hospice about getting involved with Suffolk Remembers, what struck me was how much they wanted to work with me to raise my business profile. To them, it wasn’t just about the vital funds I would be bringing to the charity; they wanted to ensure I was getting the best results out of the sponsorship partnership too.”

Since working with Mr Button on Suffolk Remembers, the team at the hospice has developed a bespoke package to complement the business and further grow the regional profile, which includes the business being the first to sponsor the charity’s annual Christmas Day Dip on Felixstowe seafront.

“I’ve been a supporter of St Elizabeth Hospice for a long time and it’s great to be able to help a charity that cares for local people,” Mr Button said. “The tailored plan the hospice team has created for me, shows that they’ve considered the opportunities available and identified the ones for my business to reach the right people, in the right place, at the right time, helping me raise the profile of my firm while helping the hospice too.”

St Elizabeth Hospice are currently looking for sponsors for their next big event Who’s Afraid of the Park? A scary terror trail around Holywells Park, which takes place on Saturday 27 October, aimed at those over the age of 14.  Several sponsorship opportunities are available.
