Christies Care hosts hugely successful Community Day

Christies Care, the national live-in care provider, welcomed over 100 local people to their free Community Day on 20^th April at Trinity Park, Ipswich.

The Community Day included a special performance from Circus Petite for people with Learning Disabilities. Before the performance the group took part in a range of activities including balloon art, face painting and Ipswich Academy’s idrum.

Almost 100 guests gathered to enjoy the bespoke performance by Circus Petite. Acts included Justo the Clown, jugglers, rope walking, hula-hooping, magic, fire displays and more. Christies Care’s specialist Learning Disabilities team have worked closely with the Circus to ensure the performance is appropriate and enjoyable for the audience.

Christies Care had also laid on afternoon tea for older people, as part of an ongoing commitment to combating loneliness and isolation amongst older people in the community.

Lin Barnes, Director of Christies Care said: “We are delighted to have once again put together such a fabulous day for older people and for adults with Learning Disabilities. It’s an honour to be able to give back to the community in this way and put so many smiles on so many faces! Our thanks go to everyone who came, to Circus Petite, Trinity Park all the contributors who helped us to put on this event.”
