‘Back to Life’ Charity eyes Christmas chart spot

The Back to Life Community Fund is the lifetime undertaking of Paul Hammond, raising money for mental health disability projects in East Anglia.

Their latest fundraising project is a charity single, ‘Fractured’, released on 24th November by local band Slick Division and available on Amazon for just 99p. The single has already been chosen as ‘single of the week’ on Harbour Radio, received great support  from SMART Radio and Radio North Sea International and was recently featured on Radio Norfolk BBC Introducing. The band also performed the track live at the switching on of the Lowestoft Christmas lights.

“We have spent all of our Christmas savings on promoting this charity single campaign without a single penny of sponsorship or funding”, Paul said, “A chart spot would be amazing! If we pull together we can do this; if everyone simply leaves it to someone else to do then the spirit of humanity and working together is lost”.

Paul returned from Kenya after working alongside the British Army during the Horn of Africa famine crisis. Since his return he has been on long-term recovery from Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD). Before C-PTSD Paul was recognised as an award-winning professional DJ, published author and successful charity fundraiser. Since his diagnosis he has campaigned to raise money and awareness for those living with mental health disorders.

“The aim of the fund is to raise awareness, offer support and provide invaluable assistance to those suffering from much stigmatised illnesses” Paul confirmed.

The fund aims to raise in excess of £250,000 and will support members of the public via all recognised, endorsed and established community projects (and new enterprising initiatives) within the region that underpin mental health.
