Anglia Factors supports hospice with charity cycle ride

A team of seven from Anglia Factors, Suffolk’s bespoke kitchens and interiors specialist, are taking on the Prudential Ride London 100 mile Olympic cycle challenge to raise vital funds for St Elizabeth Hospice this summer.

Inspired by their boss’s efforts last year, a team of six craftsmen, designers and fitters from Anglia Factors are joining owner, Daniel Barr, on the charity cycle ride on 30th July.

The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 starts in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and follows a similar 100-mile route to that taken by competitors in the London 2012 Olympics.

Daniel and his son, Alex, raised almost £5,000 for St Elizabeth Hospice by cycling 300 miles from London to Paris last year with the well-publicised Hospice Team 100

The pair were so successful at drumming up sponsorship last year that their JustGiving page was one of the most successful. In September 2016, out of 83,542 fundraisers on JustGiving, Daniel and Alex were in the top 1%.

Daniel explains: “St Elizabeth Hospice provides vital services free of charge in East Suffolk. It costs millions of pounds a year to run, and relies on fundraising events and donations. I am very happy to have the gang with me on this ride. We’re determined to raise more than last year as the leg-testing climbs on this route are a killer. That said, it will be awesome to ride the route made famous by the Olympians in 2012.”

As usual this cycle ride will be supplemented by other fundraising efforts for the hospice by the Anglia Factors team, including cooking demonstrations at the Showroom on Gloster Road in Martlesham.

The fundraising page is live and donations can be made here.
