Alan Boswell Group raises more than £70,000 for charity

Leading independent insurance broker and financial planner Alan Boswell Group (ABG) has once again risen to the challenge of raising vital funds for cancer charity, Big C.

Following a record-breaking year in 2016, where the group raised more than £33,000 for the East Anglian charity, the firm delivered a further £15,000 in 2017. The long-standing partnership has seen ABG donate in excess of £70,000 in total, with its annual charity golf day raising funds over the past 20 years.

During 2017, the company’s staff undertook a variety of fundraising activities, including the Norwich 10k, Colour 5k, Tour-de-Norfolk cycling sportive, a Snowdon climb, the Boswell Cup (a 7-a-side football tournament held at Norwich City Football Club), as well as its annual golf day, numerous cake sales and monthly dress-down days.

ABG also worked with other organisations to maximise fundraising opportunities. For example, the Norfolk Province of Freemasons’ used the group’s car park for NCFC match-day parking, raising more than £1,600.

Big C Chief Executive Dr Chris Bushby, said: “By supporting Big C, Boswell’s has helped us to fund ground-breaking, world-class research at the Norwich Research Park. Monies also go towards surgical and diagnostic equipment in our local hospitals, as well as our cancer support and information centres across the Norfolk, which help thousands of people every year.”

It’s for this reason that the group has chosen to continue to support Big C throughout 2018. Staff are already planning initiatives to raise money this year, including running the London Marathon and the National Three Peaks Challenge.

Chris continued: “The amount of money raised over the last few years is incredible. The dedication, enthusiasm and generosity shown by its staff, along with the training that they’ve had to put into some of the challenges, is admirable.

“The commitment of companies like Alan Boswell Group enables us to continue to help those in need throughout the region. We’re extremely happy it has decided to continue its support and look forward to working with them in 2018.”

Group Executive Chairman Alan Boswell, comments: “Everyone has a story about somebody close to them who has been affected by this disease. By continuing to support Big C, we can see the impact of our efforts right here in East Anglia.”
