No Place Like Home

No Place Like Home

A recent report has found that 48% of people die in hospital but only 1% of us want to.

You may be surprised to hear that 80% of the care given by St Elizabeth Hospice is administered out in the community, in people’s own homes, and not at the hospice based in Ipswich.

At St Elizabeth Hospice, we know how important it is that people can choose where they spend their final days and, as a local business, you can help give them that choice.

Too many people die in hospital when they would much rather be at home, in a nursing home or in a hospice. That choice could make such a difference, for them and their families.

St Elizabeth Hospice can provide vital support to their patients, and their families, and have a dedicated team of specialist nurses that can be deployed where they’re needed most – in the community in a patients’ own home.

Delivering this vision, to care for Suffolk’s terminally ill at home, will cost the hospice an extra £1 million per year (on top of the £10.5 million we already need to raise to deliver our services) and this is where you and your business can help. Every donation, large or small, will take us one step further towards our £1 million goal and you can be assured that the money you give will go directly to this important new project and benefit local people.
