Ground floor of Framlingham Technology Centre officially reopens following £720K post-storm refurbishment
1/04/2025 - Framlingham Technology Centre

Following extensive flooding caused by Storm Babet in October 2023, the ground floor of the Framlingham Technology Centre (FTC) has officially reopened after a £720,000 refurbishment, marking the beginning of a new era of home-grown innovation, skilled local jobs, and economic growth in East Anglia.
The storm caused significant damage to the ground floor, disrupting operations and forcing businesses to temporarily relocate. Now, after a successful launch event on Thursday, 27th March, attended by local business leaders, dignitaries, and community members, the revitalised space is ready to welcome back tenants and new enterprises.
The event featured speeches from Tony Stockman, Chairman of FTC, and Ian Chapman, Centre Coordinator, alongside a presentation by Nic Pandolfi on opportunities for business growth in East Anglia, offering expert advice and support for startups and established firms alike.
A modern hub for innovation
The rebuilding project, delivered by Suffolk-based contractors Mixbrow, has transformed the ground floor into a dynamic, state-of-the-art workspace, featuring:
- A brand-new reception and refreshment area
- A collaborative lounge and conference facilities
- Cutting-edge office and workshop spaces
- A vibrant co-working hub designed to encourage creativity and partnerships
- FramFlex – a brand-new coworking hub space
Businesses will also benefit from high-speed internet connectivity, capable of supporting demanding online commercial activities, making it an ideal base for tech startups, creative industries, and engineering firms.
Since opening in 2001, the Framlingham Technology Centre has been a launchpad for innovation, with tenant businesses achieving a combined annual turnover exceeding £16 million in recent years. The centre has built a reputation as a collaborative ecosystem where new products, partnerships, and breakthroughs thrive.
With the refurbishment complete, the centre aims to attract early-stage tech businesses, engineering firms, and creative enterprises, offering flexible office, workshop, and lab spaces to suit a range of needs.
Tony Stockman, Chairman of Framlingham Technology Centre, shared his enthusiasm:
