Lowestoft Vision enhances town centre with floral displays

Beautiful new floral displays have been revealed in Lowestoft’s town centre aimed at enhancing the environment for visitors, staff and the local community, and helping to attract new businesses and visitors to the area.

Lowestoft Vision, the Business Improvement District for Lowestoft’s town centre, had already committed to providing 16 floral displays this winter, but with the generous support from East Suffolk Council’s High Street Improvement grant scheme there are now over 30 planters and displays to be found throughout the town centre.

This investment is part of Lowestoft Vision’s ‘pride of place’ promise that aims to improve the look and feel of our local town centre, and improve the visitor offering.

“We believe in creating a vibrant town centre for residents and visitors alike, and these planters help make an impactful step in achieving that goal,” Danny Steel, Lowestoft Vision Chair commented at the launch. “We are very grateful for the generous support East Suffolk Council have provided, along with the support of all the local businesses within the BID area.”

“We want local businesses and the people of Lowestoft to be proud of our town,” Angela Grey, Lowestoft Vison BID Manager added. “With pride comes a sense of belonging and a stronger sense of community amongst residents and business, which creates a more appealing environment for visitors and helps to attract new businesses and visitors to the area.”

Cllr Toby Hammond, East Suffolk Council cabinet member for Economic Development and Transport, said: “Planters are a really effective way of introducing nature into our built environment.

“Plants and trees have obvious environmental benefits – absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen – but they can also help rejuvenate a high street by bringing us closer to nature in more inviting spaces.

“I’m glad we have been able to show our support for Lowestoft Vision’s commitment to enhancing the town centre by helping to almost double the number of planters placed along the high street.”

Lowestoft Vision will continue its commitment to enhancing the town centre with yet more floral displays to be installed in the summer of 2025.
