Halesworth Quiz Night raises £1,250 for festive lights fund

Halesworth’s festive lights have received a £1,250 boost following a big-scale Quiz Night.

The quiz, organised by staff at Lovewell Blake’s Halesworth office on behalf of Halesworth Event Management, saw over 150 people head to Chinny’s Sports Bar to test their general knowledge, as well as take part in a raffle and a silent auction.

The event was the latest in a series of twice-yearly Quiz Nights which have helped raise money to fund Halesworth’s festive lights and put on the popular switch-on event.

Once again staff from Lovewell Blake’s Halesworth office promoted the event, devised the quiz, acted as quiz masters, and handled all of the organisation.

“Our Quiz Nights have become renowned, and this was the biggest ever,” said Gary Stannard, treasurer of Halesworth Event Management and Manager at Lovewell Blake Chartered Accountants. “It’s a fun way of helping to raise funds towards the £10,000 it costs to put on the festive lights in the town every year.

“I would like to thank all those local businesses and individuals who supported the event and a special thank you to my Lovewell Blake colleagues Linda Palin, Susanne Curtis and Karen McMorran for all their hard work in making the quiz happen.”

The winning team was ‘4 Thoughts’.
