Katch, the popular on-demand transport service, has announced announce a special promotional offer aimed at encouraging new users to experience the convenient and efficient service. Starting from August 26th, 2024, and lasting for one week, rides will be available for just £1—an average discount of 70% compared to usual bus fares.
The scheme hopes to give on demand bus travel a boost in the area, encouraging more people to discover how easy and stress-free travelling by an on-demand bus is.
Introduced in 2023 by East Suffolk Council in collaboration with the local community transport operator CATS (Coastal Accessible Transport Service), Katch provides a vital transportation link between Framlingham and Snape, with convenient stops at Wickham Market Railway Station (Campsea Ashe).
This service is ideal for commuters, shoppers, tourists, and anyone needing reliable and flexible transportation.
Why choose Katch?
Cllr Toby Hammond, East Suffolk Council cabinet member for Economic Development and Transport stated, ‘On-demand transport services like Katch are essential for helping people navigate the local area, whether they’re heading to school, work, or meeting friends. It’s also an excellent choice for day trips to places like Framlingham Castle, Snape Maltings, or for those continuing their journey from Wickham Market railway station in Campsea Ashe. The introduction of the £1 fares demonstrates our commitment to developing a better network—one that makes opportunities accessible, protects our environment, and stimulates economic growth.'”
The 12-seater accessible Katch minibus can be booked through a dedicated website. The service operates from 7:30pm to 6:30pm Monday to Friday, from 10.00am to 6.30pm on Saturdays, and from 10:00pm to 6:00pm on bank holidays, with stops in Framlingham, Wickham Market, Campsea Ashe, and Snape.
