28 miles in 28 Days
1/02/2023 - EACH (East Anglia Children's Hospice's)
“They might choose to walk a mile a day, swim or cycle seven a week or complete the whole distance in one epic day” – help raise vital funds by signing up for EACH’s 28 Miles in 28 Days challenge
A children’s charity is launching its first-ever Facebook fundraiser – challenging members of the public to walk, run, cycle or swim 28 miles in February. The fun event has been organised by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) and anyone who raises at least £10 will receive a free T-shirt.
After completing the challenge, they will also be sent a certificate marking their achievement. EACH supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex.
“It promises to be great fun and a fantastic way to support our charity and make a real difference,” said community fundraising manager Tina Burdett.
“Anyone who signs up can complete their 28 miles however they like in February. They might choose to walk a mile a day, swim or cycle seven a week or complete the whole distance in one epic day.
“It’s an entirely individual thing and fantastic motivation to get active, while raising sponsorship to help us continue our vital work caring for and supporting children, young people or families.”
There are three easy steps to sign up for EACH’s 28 Miles in 28 Days challenge. Anyone interested in taking part must register first. It only takes a minute to complete the form.
Then join EACH’s Facebook group to link up with other challengers and set up a Facebook fundraiser.
“This can be shared with friends and family and, once you’ve raised £10 on your Facebook fundraising page, you’ll earn a free EACH T-shirt,” added Tina.
“You can also download our Challenge Tracker to help you keep tabs on your progress throughout February. For added inspiration, we’ll be sharing tips and stories to get people motivated and if anyone wants to hear from the families we support – and learn more about the difference fundraising makes – head to the dedicated page on our website.”
