Suffolk freight forwarder set to retain title in local awards

A Great Blakenham-based business has made the shortlist in the International Business of the Year category in the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Awards 2020, just 11 months after winning the 2019 award.

Morrison Freight, who are celebrating their 30th Anniversary year this year, are also finalists in the High Growth Business of the Year category.

Director Lee Steward said: “Following a hugely successful year last year, we are delighted to have once again been shortlisted in the International Business of the Year category.

“We are incredibly proud of the work we have done over the last five years so to be recognised in both categories of these prestigious local awards is fantastic.

“We’re hoping we can retain our title and progress to the national awards later on this year.”

Directors Lee Steward and Darren Ryan are also celebrating their fifth year in charge of Morrison Freight, having taken over management of the business in April 2015.

The FSB Awards recognise and celebrate the huge contribution that smaller businesses and the self-employed make to the UK. The awards consist of regional finals and a national final where winners from the regional awards go head-to-head to win the overall award.

Morrison Freight was awarded International Business of the Year at the 2019 regional finals for its Brexit preparations.

The East of England Award finals are taking place at Newmarket racecourse on Friday 27 March 2020. Winners will then progress to the national finals in London on 21 May 2020.

Last year Morrison Freight also won High Growth Business of the Year at the British Chamber Awards.
