Hemisphere Freight Services, one of the UK’s largest independent logistics providers, has acquired Barton Freight Services. The move expands the Ipswich-based company’s range of services and brings new faces with a wealth of expertise into the business.
Hemisphere has had a close relationship with the team at Barton Freight Services for many years, collaborating on many occasions. Barton shares Hemisphere’s high standards of service and customer care, making this move a natural progression for all parties involved.
The acquisition sees Hemisphere welcome Clare Moss, former Director and Head of Operations at Barton, to the team as a Key Accounts Manager, working from the existing Barton base in Surrey as well as interacting with Hemisphere’s other facilities as required. Having worked as part of a smaller team at Barton, bringing Clare into the Hemisphere fold provides Clare and her clients with a wider support network.
Andy Perrin, Founder and Director of Hemisphere, said: “It is brilliant to have merged two like-minded independent logistics providers. We have been lucky enough to work with Clare Moss at Barton for many years; she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Hemisphere team.”
Clare Moss said: “I’m delighted to be part of the Hemisphere team. It’s a great opportunity to broaden my own horizons and offer a wider range of services to my clients. Hemisphere and Barton Freight Services share the same standards and values, so it’s a perfect move for both parties.”
Clare’s wealth of experience is already making a positive impact on the Hemisphere team; her specialist knowledge of antique shipping will enable the company to expand its expertise in this area as well as complementing many existing services, including its bespoke packing service. Having this expertise in-house is an advantage for both Hemisphere and its clients.
