Big Ferry Fortnight launches with 10 most beautiful destinations

Big Ferry Fortnight launches with 10 most beautiful destinations reached by ferry and offers free tickets to ‘sea’ them.

To celebrate Big Ferry Fortnight, industry body Discover Ferries has listed the 10 most beautiful sights reached by water. With destinations from across the British Isles, Ireland and Europe making the list, holidaymakers from the UK and Isle of Man can enter a public ballot, at www.bigferryfortnight.com, to win free tickets so they can enjoy these sights themselves.
• Big Ferry Fortnight Ballot runs from 27th February – 12th March2020
• Over 600 free pairs of ferry tickets are available for routes across the British Isles, Ireland and Europe       worth more than £80,000
• 130 free pairs of ferry tickets are available from ports in the South
East

Emma Batchelor, director of Discover Ferries, says: “Holidaymakers look for richer holiday experiences that enable them to see a more authentic side of their destination and capture memories along the way – a trend we see widely on social media where #travel has been tagged more than 470 million times on
Instagram alone.”
Ferry travel offers a great start to any holiday for those seeking freedom and adventure, whether that is catching a glimpse of marine wildlife from the ferry deck or exploring the fantastic food outlets and entertainment available on board. This list highlights the best and most breath-taking places passengers can ‘sea’ on our home shores and neighbouring European coasts. Emma added, “The Big Ferry Fortnight Ballot is a great opportunity for people who may never have travelled by ferry before, offering them the chance to experience the benefits of travelling on the water and reaching some of the world’s most
beautiful destinations – for free!
“The land and seascapes on our list are as diverse as the types of holidays ferry passengers enjoy; so whether you are seeking a longer, cruise-style ferry experience to travel to Ireland or continental Europe, or are looking to experience natural beauty closer to home with a shorter crossing – there are plenty of options. And, as an island nation, you are never too far from your nearest port.”
