Corbel shortlisted for the Innovation Award at the Suffolk Business Awards

Corbel has been shortlisted for the Innovation Award at the Suffolk Business Awards. “I don’t think it’s sunk in yet,” says Corbel Director Karen Rogers.

“Everyone at Corbel is over the moon. Being shortlisted alone is a massive honour, especially against such amazing local businesses. The standard of competition tells you all you need to know about Suffolk’s reputation for embracing innovation. Of course, we still think we’ve got what it takes to win the award, but we’re proud to be up there in the first place.”

The prestigious EADT Suffolk Business Awards, previously known as the Anglian Business Awards, turns 21 year this year. And when winners are announced at a gala dinner event in July, the Corbel team will be dusting off their tuxedos and evening dresses for a glitzy night of celebrating local business success.

The Innovation Award, sponsored by University of Suffolk, recognises enterprises who demonstrate an impact on their industry through innovation. The award committee are looking for game changers, skilful users of R&D, and a clear commitment to diversity and sustainability. And few could argue that Corbel don’t tick all three boxes.

Indeed, the judges’ comments reflect just that: “Corbel has been shortlisted having demonstrated their commitment to R & D, using innovation to improve their services, creating and launching an innovative and accessible cloud-based IT solution.

The company has situated itself as part of the local innovation ecosystem, engaging with professionals through development of their Info Tech Anglia IT Forum and demonstrating a commitment to the community in doing so.”

Karen adds: “We’re meeting East Anglian business needs with cloud hosted IT and workplace recovery that’s well ahead of our regional competitors. We’re actively changing our industry by bringing together the latest technologies to benefit customers in ways they hadn’t even imagined,” says Karen. “And this year we launched the Info Tech Anglia IT Forum, where we encouraged IT decision-makers throughout the region to share information and ideas. We’re nurturing a hotbed of innovation and have watched it spread out and benefit many local companies and projects.”
