SimpleClick launches new service for independent retailers

As businesses navigate their way through the latest developments and plan for the “new norm” Ipswich-based digital agency, SimpleClick, is boosting its support for independent retailers with the launch of a new online store ‘Set Up’ service.

Whilst no sector has been untouched by the impacts of the current COVID-19 pandemic a number of businesses have been quick to adapt, a good example being small independent retailers and food outlets that are providing a delivery service for orders taken over the phone or through social media messages. Many of these companies could benefit from a simple online ordering system, whether through their website or social media, but often lack the technical know-how to set up the system themselves.

With this in mind, SimpleClick is launching a new ‘Set Up’ service to provide a range of help – from simple signposting and advice, through to specialist technical support. As businesses look to increase their level of trading, a simple online platform can free up valuable time, currently used to take orders manually, and create a 24/7 service for customers to place their orders, so the business can concentrate on fulfilling the orders and planning the next stage of recovery.

Managing Director at SimpleClick, Richard Jennis, explains: “Homeware and gift stores, bakeries, farm shops and chippies are just some of the many businesses facing challenging times and a simple online set up could provide a vital path to increasing their level of trade.
“Not only does an online store free up valuable time that is currently used to take phone orders, the nature of digital means that orders can be taken 24/7, providing a more flexible service to customers – particularly when many people prefer to shop in the evening or at weekends.
He continues: “We want to help businesses survive and rebuild and hope that this new service will be a valuable resource that really helps independent retailers.”

“As with all challenges the coronavirus pandemic is difficult and presents obstacles but it can also be an opportunity for businesses to evolve their ways of working, expand their online and digital capabilities as well as making their workforce and customer base more agile.”
