Local sweetshop is having a ‘whippy’ great time

Plans for a post-pandemic takeover were not in the works, but the possibility to become Framlingham’s social hub was too wonderful to pass up, according to Hannah Barton, dubbed “The Sweet Lady of Fram.” 

“I leaped at the chance to buy Simpsons Sweets & Milkshakes. I recognised the need for modernisation, and I just knew I could make it the social centre of Framlingham. We opened in March 2020, when things were still uncertain owing to covid, but as a local girl, I knew the Framlingham community would rally around us and support a long-standing Framlingham business – and I was correct!’ says Hannah  

Understanding the value of buying from local companies Simpsons sells goods from nearby businesses including the iconic H&J Gelato Ice Cream and locally roasted FreshPac coffee.  

The Mr Whippy Machine – arguably the most popular addition to the shop  Creating ‘Whippy Wednesday’ where you can get a Mr Whippy Ice Cream for just 99p, you can expect the shop to be packed with excited children waiting to get their after-school treat!  

Not to miss an opportunity Hannah put her party hat on and began to host children’s birthday parties which has proven to be a big hit. Bookings are taken virtually every week!
